Restorative Justice is now part of our justice system in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Anyone who pleads guilty to an offence is offered the opportunity to take part.
This enables the person harmed by an offence and the person who committed the offence to meet in a place of safety with two facilitators and support people.
I work as an accredited facilitator with the Manawatu Restorative Justice Trust Tura Whake Ora. It’s challenging and rewarding work.
