Restorative Justice Facilitation

Restorative Justice is now part of our justice system in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Anyone who pleads guilty to an offence is offered the opportunity to take part.

This enables the person harmed by an offence and the person who committed the offence to meet in a place of safety with two facilitators and support people to discuss the harms and how they can be addressed. A report is then provided to the judge at sentencing. It’s challenging and rewarding work.

I am trained and accredited to facilitate all criminal cases including family violence and do this work with the Manawatu Restorative Justice Trust Tura Whake Ora.

Restorative is also becoming part of the health system and I have completed the Restorative Foundations and Restorative Responses Health and Disability credentialling courses with Wellington Uni Professional.
